Ashill Village Day 2026

Join us for a fantastic weekend of community events across the Late May Bank Holiday. There’s something for everyone…from competitions and races to games, food, and live music.

Pétanque Competition

• First Rounds: Sun 17th May (3pm–7pm), Mon 18th & Tues 19th (6pm–8pm)

• Second Rounds: Weds 20th – Fri 22nd (6pm–8pm)

• Final Rounds: Sat 23rd May (4pm–7pm)

Saturday 23rd May

7pm – Ashill History Talk & Photo Display

• Photo display available in the hall all weekend

Sunday 24th May (Main Event Day)

9:00am – Fun Run

• 5K route (with shorter 2K option)

• Starts at the Village Hall

• Under 16s must run with a responsible adult

10:30am – Dog Show (Ashill Crufts)

• Meet outside the Village Hall

12:30pm – Village Rounders & Pétanque Final

• All ages and abilities welcome

• Come and play, watch, or just enjoy the atmosphere

2:00pm – 5:00pm – Face Painting

• At the Village Hall

3:00pm – 5:00pm – Soapbox Derby

• Children’s Ride-On Event:
  Starts from the pub – perfect for younger children to join on their ride-ons as they experience the fast downhill run

• Main Soapbox Derby:

  • Prizes for fastest & best-decorated karts

  • Spectator favourites spots:

    • Pub car park (tight bend action)

    • Village Hall (final downhill run)

• Start Location:
  Junction with Batts Park (3:00pm)

Wheelbarrow Race (Fancy Dress Optional!)

• Finishes at the pub

6:00pm – Trophy Presentation, BBQ & Live Music

• BBQ by the Ashill Inn

• Live music from Scott (The Sweet Black Angels)

• At the Village Hall

• 12:30pm – 2:30pm

• From 5:00pm onwards

🚧 Important Information

• Road Closure:
  The road from Batts Park junction to the Village Hall will be closed 3pm–5pm on Sunday

• No parking allowed along this route during closure

🙋 Volunteers Needed

We’d love your help to make the day a success!

We are looking for volunteers for:

• Fun Run marshalling (9am)

• Soapbox Derby marshalling (3pm)

• Cake donations
