Ashill Village Day 2025
Make the most of your bank holiday weekend this May and join us for one of the highlights of the year – Ashill Village Day! Taking place on Sunday 25th May 2025, it's a full day packed with family-friendly fun, laughter, and a good dose of friendly competition.
Whether you're a keen runner, a dog lover, a rounders champ, a karting daredevil, or just looking for a great day out with the community, there's something for everyone.
Here’s what’s happening:
🕘 9am – The Ashill Fun Run
Kick off the day with our annual 5K (or 2K) Fun Run through the scenic lanes around Ashill. It’s a great way to get moving and meet neighbours – keep an eye out for registration details coming soon!
🐶 10:30am – Ashill Crufts (Dog Show)
Fluff up those ears and polish those paws – it’s time for your pooch to shine! Meet outside the village hall for a tail-wagging good time.
🥎 1pm – Rounders & Pétanque
Back by popular demand – the village rounders game! Whether you're a seasoned hitter or just fancy a laugh, everyone is welcome. Or head over to the pétanque pitch and join the boules tournament (details to follow).
🎨 2pm – 5pm – Face Painting
Pop by the Village Hall and transform into a tiger, fairy, or superhero! Fun for all ages.
🏎️ 3pm – 5pm – Ashill Soapbox Derby
The showstopper of the day!
3:15pm – Children’s Ride-On Dash
Starting from the pub, little racers can zoom their way down to the Village Hall on trikes and ride-ons – helmets encouraged and giggles guaranteed!3:30pm – The Main Event: Soapbox Derby. Register your Kart HERE
Will your kart be the fastest or the fanciest? Join the race or come cheer from the sidelines. Great viewing spots include the pub car park (watch them tackle the bend!) and the final dash near the Village Hall.
Important!
The road from Batts Park to the Village Hall will be closed from 3–5pm, so please plan ahead – and no parking along the route.
🍖 6pm – Hog Roast, Trophies & Live Music
Round off the day in style with a sizzling hog roast (pre-orders available soon), the all-important Soapbox Trophy presentation, and some foot-tapping live music at the Village Hall.
Whether you’re racing, cheering, or just enjoying the atmosphere, Ashill Village Day promises a brilliant day out for all ages. Come and be part of the fun – we can’t wait to see you there!
